My Week in Kiyindi

This week I spent my time at the primary school in Kiyindi. The staff and the kids were so welcoming that I felt like I was at home. Everywhere I went I was escorted by a mob of kids, all wanting to hold my hand and walk with me. They are all very sweet.  I have tried to capture of a couple of pictures of them, but it usually turns into a camera riot with all the kids trying to get to the front of the picture. :)

I also had the opportunity to teach a couple of art lessons in the P3 class. There are 55 students in the class, but they were all so well behaved that you never would have guessed there were that many in the classroom. They all worked so hard to create their beautiful works of art. :)

On Tuesday, I got to join the rest of the staff for a party/celebration. All the students were sent home from school a little bit early (around 2 pm) so that the staff could have a party to celebrate the success of the exam marks from P7 last year. Kiyindi had the highest scores in the region and all 131 students qualified for secondary school. :)

There was always so much going on at the school. I had the opportunity to visit a few different classes and they were all filled with so much energy and enthusiasm to be at school learning. I am looking forward to next week when I will be back at Kiyindi for more fun times. :)

  1. Wow - great news that all of the students qualified for secondary school. I hope they'll all be able to attend, too.

I'm enjoying your updates and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
